adidas Predator boots stood upright

MEET THE NEXT GENERATION OF THE ADIDAS PREDATOR

Published: 05/12/2025 | Written By: Alex Courbat

Remember Zidane gliding past defenders in ’98 as France made history? Or Beckham’s unforgettable strike from just inside his own half? And who could forget Bellingham, arms raised, as the whole nation sang Hey Jude? Legendary moments, right? And behind all of them, there was a boot that made it possible: the Predator. Now, the story continues with the limited-edition Predator “Finisher Steel”, a first glimpse into the 2026 generation.

With the “Finisher Steel”, adidas goes straight back to Predator mythology. The silver-grey upper calls back to the beloved 2003 Gunmetal Predator, while the wavy Three Stripes and hits of Lucid Red throughout the boot inject that unmistakable Predator-edge DNA.

Slip them on, and the first thing you’ll notice is the soleplate. adidas has brought back the much-loved full-length POWERSPINE to give you stability and better energy transfer for those crisp, controlled strikes. Pair it with the updated STRIKEFRAME stud pattern, and you’ve got a boot built for serious performance – perfect to give you an edge in today’s pivot-heavy, fast-paced game.

If the design brings you back to the early 2000s, the tech inside is fully future-facing. The new NANOSTRIKE+ mesh upper feels firmer than last year’s HYPERTOUCH 2.0 at first – thin, sharp, and slightly stiff – but it quickly adapts, molding to your foot as it warms. Every touch becomes clean and predictable: short passes, cushioned takes under pressure, clipped balls in behind – the boot responds instantly.

Fit-wise, this Predator hugs your midfoot without pinching, while the toe box leaves just enough room for natural movement. The PRIMEKNIT collar gives adaptive lockdown, and once it breaks in, the boot almost disappears on your foot – supportive when required, flexible when needed.

The small details matter too. The slightly raised toe box adds comfort without losing that connected feel players expect. And the striking elements have been refined as well: the big rubber fins from the Predator 25 are gone, replaced with smaller spikes and subtle raised grip zones to make every touch precise and every strike confident.

This isn’t just nostalgia wrapped in a new shade of silver. This is adidas taking everything that made the Predator iconic – touch, fit, aggressive design – and engineering it for the next era. Passes feel cleaner, strikes feel more deliberate, and suddenly everything just clicks. And best of all? With all the tech packed inside, it also comes in as the lightest Predator ever at around 200 grams. Not too shabby.

Now, for those wondering where to get them, the limited FT version launches first, with the full Finisher Steel Pack – including both laced and laceless models – landing in January. Just four weeks to go. The countdown is officially on.
